Checkout Governor Makinde's Reaction To Lanlehin’s Withdrawal From Coalition

Gov Seyi Makinde Reaction To Lanlehin’s Withdrawal From Coalition
Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde Reacts To Lanlehin’s Withdrawal From Coalition.

Governor Seyi Makinde has expressed shock over claims made by the  gubernatorial candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC  in the last general elections, Senator Olufemi Lanlehin over the coalition agreement.

Recall that report had it earlier that Lanlehin announced his withdrawal from the coalition government over non compliance of Governor Seyi Makinde.

Makinde in a statement issued by his Political Adviser, Babatunde Oduyoye said the claims by Lanlehin are untrue, unjustifiable and inconsistent with reality.

Read the full statement below:

Press Release

Oyo coalition: Setting the records straight

We received with shock, claims credited to the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Senator Femi Lanlehin, that he has withdrawn his support for the coalition birthed by a number of political parties ahead of the March 9, 2019 election in Oyo State.

It is more shocking to read Senator Lanlehin’s allegation that his decision was hinged on Governor Seyi Makinde’s infidelity to the coalition agreement.

That allegation, to say the least, is a clear affront on the sincerity of Governor Makinde and his magnanimous disposition in handling all the discussions about the coalition.
Let us also state without equivocation that the claim by the Senator is untrue, unjustifiable and inconsistent with the reality of it all.
A statement signed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Strategy and Political Matters, Honourable Babatunde Oduyoye, on Tuesday, maintained that the governor could not be accused of non-compliance by any party, because he had lived up to his promise to all parties to the coalition and in some cases “even bending backwards to accommodate all interests.”
He said that the Governor has lived up to his promise not only to Senator Lanlehin but also to all members of the coalition, saying that the committee reached an agreement, which was signed by all the parties and tabled before the Governor.
He said that the agreement contained a template for the sharing of positions in government as well as membership of boards and parastatals, noting that procedures have been set in motion for the actualization of the template.
According to Oduyoye, the apex committee of the coalition parties had met over three times, with agreements reached and tabled at a meeting with the Governor, adding that the Governor even improved on the agreement to further accommodate interests in the ADC and the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP).
The statement further read: “There was no dissenting voice from all the representatives of the parties at the meeting with Governor Makinde. Everyone commended how he handled the matter. Senator Lanlehin only had issues with the other leaders of the ADC on Monday when they were discussing how to share the positions allotted to the ADC.
“He should not in any way attempt to drag the name of Governor Makinde to the frustrations he is encountering in his party.
“If Senator Lanlehin withdraws from the coalition, he must have done so as an individual, because we are aware that the ADC as a party remains an integral part of the coalition as leaders of the party have repeatedly pledged their fidelity to the coalition.
“We believe that the coalition was not put together merely to further any personal aspiration other than the collective interests of the people of Oyo State.”

Hon. Babatunde Oduyoye
Special Adviser Strategy and Political Matters, to the Governor of Oyo State.

Gov Seyi Makinde Volunteers To Donate Blood For COVID-19 Research

seyi-makinde-volunteers-to-donate-blood-for-covid-19-research-teelamford
The Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde has today volunteered to donate his blood for research to find cure to the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to him,  his blood will be studied by experts for the evaluation of post infection protection against the coronavirus pandemic in Nigeria.

Makinde who is a survivor of the disease made this known on Wednesday in a tweet via his official twitter account.

Read below;
“We have been advocating for local solutions to the COVID-19 pandemic in Oyo State.
So, as a COVID-19 survivor, I volunteered to donate my blood to be studied by our experts researching on the “Evaluation of Post Infection Protection Against SARS-COV-2 (COVID-19) in Nigeria”

Recall that the Governor recently advocated for local solutions to the Covid-19 which has killed thousands of people in the world.

Gov Seyi Makinde also said:
“We are looking at local solutions. I know that a lot of people have been calling me all sorts of names on the social media but, from my experience, one thing that I know you have to do to conquer the virus is that you have to boost your immunity. We do have local solutions and, of course, we have to defer to experts’ opinion as part of the home-grown solution to deal with COVID-19.
People may ask if we have been funding the research institutes very well. They may even ask if we are in a position to bring any kind of solution to the world. My answer is yes. Even chewing something like bitter-cola. When the Western world is having flu season, they have flu shots. But here, we have things like catarrh. When we are crossing over from dry season to rainy season, people almost always fall sick. Cold, cough, catarrh, we have ways of dealing with all of these locally.
So, except a solution comes from the Western or Eastern world, I won’t say that we cannot deal with it. I believe we have the capacity. We have the intellect to look at things that work locally and we will keep encouraging that. We have the capacity to also validate some of the results that we are going to be getting.
They did clinical trials for chloroquine and some other medications but these are things we take normally here. So, we are not ruling out local solution to this pandemic.”

Gov. Seyi Makinde Inherited N150bn Debt, Threatens to Expose His Predecessor, Ajimobi If He Don't Stop Disturbing His Administration

Gov. Seyi Makinde Inherited N150bn Debt, Threatens to Expose His Predecessor, Ajimobi If He Don't Stop Disturbing His Administration
Oyo State Governor, Governor Seyi Makinde has claimed that his administration inherited a minimum debt of N150 billion, adding that his administration is still checking the books to determine the actual total debt.

Governor Makinde made the claim in a media chat on the state television on the occasion of his one month in office.

It was gathered that the governor threatened to expose his predecessor, Abiola Ajimobi, if he does not keep quiet about his (Makinde’s) administration.

He said;
We have confirmed N150b debt so far. We are still working to discover any other one. Some of them may be questionable. If you take bond, it is always tied to a particular project. If we want, we can do value-for-money audit.”
According to Gov Makinde, Oyo state receives N4.5b federal allocation while salaries and pensions stand at N5.5b, leaving the state with a shortage of N1b.

The governor, however, said that all those facts were not big problems, adding that he would only be needing the support of the people to succeed and overcome all the challenges.

The Governor also said:
Our focal point is how to strengthen the economy of the state so that all and sundry will prosper. But I will expose them if they don’t want to stop disturbing us. When we do, they won’t be able to move in the streets.”

#EruwaDecides, Bayo Olaniyan, Adebo Ogundoyin, or Mark Akinyode?

WRITER;
Aborode Taofeek Oyeniyi
CEO Eruwa Youth Awards.

It's no secret again that the 2019 OYo State House of Assembly election is a straight fight between three contestants. Bayo Olaniyan of APC, Adebo Ogundoyin of PDP, and Mark Akinyode of ADC.
It's time for ERUWA to decide and decision will be based on several factors operating in Oyo State. Let's analyse the 3 candidates together.

ADEBO OGUNDOYIN:
He is the son of the popular late Chief Ogundoyin. Late Chief ogundoyin was a popular businessman both in Nigeria and Abroad. He took ERUWA as his personal project and through projects, established the town as a force to reckon with in Eruwa. Late Chief Ogundoyin is a Philanthropist. Adebo Ogundoyin climbed on his father's image to replace the late speaker through an election in the year 2018. He tagged himself as "Omo Oloore" which means "Son of The Benevolent Chief". People voted for him to replace the late Speaker Adeyemo and he won against the ruling party. Adebo's victory at the poll started the PDP revolution in the state. He is 32 years old and young. He is highly educated and knowledgeable too. He has demonstrated excellence in just few months he has used. Even as a legislator and in just few months used, he has done projects for his constituency, both ERUWA and LANLATE. He is a model to youths and tactically woke alot of youths up to also participate heavily in politics. Should Eruwa and Lanlate vote for Adebo Ogundoyin, what do we stand to gain? Adebo is the only PDP legislator in Oyo State House of Assembly at the moment. If the PDP Tsunami that happened during the 2019 Presidential election should happen again, Seyi Makinde will be the Governor and the house of assembly will be dominated by PDP honourables. As a loyal honorable to PDP in the House despite being the only one and with his good qualities, Adebo Ogundoyin might be compensated with being the Speaker. We should not forget that he delivered his constituency for the presidential election and literally made Ibarapa East the headquarters of PDP in Oyo State. Being a Speaker or not, if Seyi Makinde should be the Governor, Adebo will bring a lot of goodwill to Ibarapa East such as Commissioners and some other good positions. Adebo Ogundoyin is very close to Davido. History made us know they went to the same school and being children from rich backgrounds, they ve been close friends to the extent that the most popular artiste in Africa, Davido is campaigning for Adebo on Social media. If Adebo wins, he will bring massive influence of entertainment to Ibarapa East consulting people like Davido. No matter how good someone may be, there will always be a black spot. Adebo Ogundoyin don't really support projects done by individuals no matter how big and meaningful the projects may be which is unusual of his family's ideology. Also, the 7 man aside football competition wasn't expected from him. To announce Eruwa to the world and also harness talents in Ibarapa East Local Government, he would have gotten a slot in the amateur league of Nigeria Football league for his late Dad's football club "Ogundoyin Babes". I see them being in the Nigeria Premier League in five years. But if he won't make the move, youth development will stay away with 7 man aside competition. It will be a good move to have Adebo Ogundoyin back in the house if the PDP Tsunami will happen again. It's a 50/50 chance. Seyi Makinde of the PDP is one of the best candidates to win. Seyi has the biggest platform to win as OYo State people are tired of Ajimobi's rule. But can Eruwa take the gamble and vote Adebo? What if Tinubu's intervention works and APC Bayo Adelabu comes in?

BAYO OLANIYAN:
He is the son of the popular late King of Eruwa Oba Gbajumola Olaniyan. Late Oba Gbajumola Olaniyan was a powerful king and through good governance, brought alot of developments into ERUWA. History made it known that Oba Olaniyan never supported any bad movement even if he will benefit from it financially or thereabout. He retained popuplar Awojobi and established the clinic himself as part of commitment to develop ERUWA amongst several others. Alot of people in Ibarapa East were raised by Oba Olaniyan's governance and Eruwa feels indebted to him. Bayo Olaniyan, his candidature has brought confusion as he is contesting against another young good son of the soil. He is a credible candidate. Bayo resigned as a lecturer in Oyo State College of Education to contest. He is Young, intelligent and very friendly to everybody. One will wonder at times if it's Bayo Olaniyan as he is always with people of different classes. He is always in the midst of people evenfar before his candidature. Also, he has shown pure readiness as he was a PA to the late Speaker Adeyemo for good 6 years. He has learnt and studied during those years and has shown it in several debates attended. He is always supporting projects even with his presence. But coming from the APC, will ERUWA vote for him? The Governor Ajimobi's governance which is believed by people to be tyrannical has given the party bad outings. Even the Governor lost his Senatorial bid. Will people forget the Governor's deeds and vote Bayo Olaniyan? Will Bayo Olaniyan bring positions and development if Tinubu's intervention pays off and APC gains ground in Oyo State again?

MARK AKINYODE:
He is one of the best Eruwa has ever produced. He has shown pure intelligent. Highly brilliant and with powerful intellects. Mark Akinyode studied abroad and established in Ghana at the moment. He won the primary that produced Late Speaker Adeyemo in 2014 but was made to drop the ticket. You will agree with me that he should be allowed to hold an administrative position even if he lose out on this ambition. You just need to meet him once to agree. His level of intelligence is extremely high. He just got settled down in Eruwa which is a black spot for him. Someone like him should have been established in the town long before. But does he stand a chance in this 2019 election? He is in a new party ADC, is the party good for him to get people's vote? Will people identify him with the party easily? Will he put a good fight with other candidates?.

A Must Read – Com. Oluwafemi Ogunshola Writes Open Letter To Oyo State Governor, Engr. Oluwaseyi Makinde

A Must Read Com Oluwafemi Ogunshola Writes Open Letter To Oyo State Governor Gov Oluwaseyi Makinde
Comrade Oluwafemi Ogunshola has sent out words to the Oyo State Governor, Engr Oluwaseyi Makinde as he expressed his concerns about the situation of the Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic Eruwa (AOPE).

Talking about the situation of the institution, he asked the Governor and the Oyo State Government at large to do something about the problems affecting the Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic Eruwa (AOPE) as he pointed out some vital points affecting the institution.

Sending out the message, Com. Oluwafemi Ogunshola also said that he hope that Governor Seyi Makinde will give his letter an utmost attention and consideration.

Read the full Letter below;
"OPEN LETTER TO EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF OYO STATE

Engr Seyi Makinde

-Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic Needs Your Swift Actions

2nd March, 2020
Your Excellency Sir,

I had wanted to wait until May 29 to write this letter to you, but my anxiety and joy in reaching you before then is indeed necessary and imperative. I may not write another letter towards the end of the year again, but should there be any need to pen down an open letter I will not hesitate.

It is with great delight that I am writing this letter to you as a good indigene of The Pacesetter who wants a great future for the good people of Oyo State.

Your Excellency sir,  I am one of those who have continued to admire you for the good works you have been doing in Oyo State in general but I would love to quickly remind you of my Previous letter dated May 27th, 2019 barely 48hours to your swearing-in. I appreciate your swift response then,  it shows your Leadership acumen and capacity.

Again,  I most humbly and respectfully request to trespass into your already crowded schedules, asking that you kindly grant me audience in my humble attempt to bring to Your Excellency's notice, the state of the present day Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic

Well,  as a matter of fact and urge,  am not happy with the Present state of things over there,  The Fact this great citadel of learning is in my fatherland,  heaven will not forgive me if I don't draw your attention to STAGNANCY battling AOPE.

In other not to waste out of your busy schedule,  sir I know the Visitation Panel had submitted their report to you over past months. But what still baffles me is the fact that nothing is yet to be implemented.

To my own young man Knowledge,  I can summarize the main problems of my alma mater into three Headings:

1. Leadership crisis
2. Accreditation delay
3. Non-Availabilty of CBT Facilities

In this letter I would have love to discuss deep about the Leadership crisis but I think the best your government can do is simply to Constitute the Governing council,  afterwards Constitute the Principal officers,  this is very necessary at this crucial time

Harry S. Truman said and I quote "In periods where there is no leadership, society stands still. Progress occurs when courageous, skillful leaders seize the opportunity to change things for the better."

On issue of Accreditation, am fully aware of your effort so far towards actualization of this exercise but yet I will still charge you to put more effort by pressing necessary button to fast track the process. Many would have wandered that what is still the accreditation after various equipment and necessities is already on ground.  On countless occasion I have received various call that "Femi the accreditation you and the  Present Government promised is it audio? It has gotten to the apex that I don't even know what to tell those who believed am on of your core loyalist.  It is on this note I charge you to do the needful. If this is achieved believe me sir the student community and people of Ibarapa will pass their vote of confidence in you in totality.

Last but not the least,  The issue of non- availability of CBT facilities.  It is a big slap on my face when I realize a whole  Polytechnic of ours can't accommodate UTME candidate but rather risk the lives of our younger ones to go down to either Igboora or Ibadan for their registration.  It's hightime the CBT facilities is updated to standard of other schools.

While anticipating a responsive action on the above, I hope that you will give this letter your utmost attention and consideration because a stitch in time save nine

God Bless Oyo State.
God Bless Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic
