Yoruba Actress, Nkechi Blessing Says Her Big Ikebe Is Natural and She Can't Hide It (See Photos)

Igbo actress Nkechi Blessing is presently the reigning queen in the Yoruba movie industry, with her recent movie, ‘Omoge Lekki’, where she gave top actor, Yinka Quadri, a lap dance.

In this interview with The Nation's Dupe Ayinla-Olasunkanmi, she discloses why she settled for the Yoruba movie industry and other interesting issues.

As an Igbo babe, don’t you think you will do better in the English sector?
I settle for this particular industry, because they were the one that accepted and welcomed me into the movie world, as an Igbo girl. I am not being biased here, but before you can make it in the English sector, it will be a very hard task.

Are you saying the Yoruba sector accepts just any person?
No, what I am saying is that in the English sector, you will move from one location to another, and might not even get selected for any role. But in the Yoruba sector; they are ready to help you grow and push you out for people to see you talent. It goes beyond the physical look, but what you can deliver.

Did you try to push yourself in the English sector?
Yes, my first movie was an English movie, directed by Emem Isong in 2007. The movie had load of stars. But at that point, I was still struggling to become a star, and it was hard for me.

Are you saying you have reached the top of your career now?
No, but you cannot compare then to now that things are easy for me, and I am taking everything cool. When I did the English movie, I didn’t get the recognition that I wanted then, so I switched.

But the movie was directed by Emem Isong, she could have been an avenue for you to rise?
Yes, that is true. But something happened back then; I lost the contact of the Production Manager who called me for the job, Emeka Duru. But I am trying to come back in track; which (saw) me star in some English movies recently. It is not like I am restricted to Yoruba movies; I do both, but more of Yoruba movies.

Which movie brought you to the limelight?
That is Omoge Lekki; it is one of the baddest movies reigning presently. It is written by my greatest mentor Mercy Aigbe-Gentry. She single-handedly brought the idea of that story that has made me a name to reckon with today.

The wayward lady you played in Omoge Lekki, is it somehow related to your person?
That is what I am trying to tell people, and that is the reason behind my new movie titled Churchgirl. When the trailer of Omoge Lekki was released and everyone saw the movie, it was believed that I must be a wayward girl, to have been able to play that role well.

But the story of the movie was to pass a message to every young person to always remember their background and always look back when they have finally made it in life. That is because you need to take care of the home, before impressing the street.

The ladies we have now spend money on material things to impress the society, copying the life style of the likes of kardarshians. Having their parents wasted away at home. The movie not about promoting girls who do runs, but a reminder for them to always look back and remember where they came from.

Does that mean that is the roles you have been getting?
Somehow, because when they saw the twerk part with Yinka Quadri that we used as promo, people have been seeing me in that aspect, and believe that is the part I can act well.

Are you saying your butt is a selling point for you?
People have been saying I have a big bumbum, but I don’t care. It is God given and I cannot hide it. People believe it is one of the things I am promoting, but I have been in the industry professionally since 2007; that is about 10years now.

22 Women, Girls Been Kidnapped By Boko Haram In North-East

Boko Haram members have abducted another 22 women and girls in two separate raids in north-east Nigeria, residents and vigilantes said.

In the first attack on Thursday, the jihadists raided the village of Pulka near the border with Cameroon where they kidnapped 18 girls.

“Boko Haram fighters from Mamman Nur camp arrived in pickup vans around 6am and seized 14 young girls aged 17 and below while residents fled into the bush,” a Pulka community leader said.

“They picked four other girls who were fleeing the raid they came across in the bush outside the village,” said the community leader who asked not to be named for fear of reprsals.

According to the official, the attackers were loyal to the faction headed by Abu Musab Al-Barnawi, the son of Boko Haram founder Mohammed Yusuf. Barnawi was appointed last year by Isis to replace leader Abubakar Shekau, who had pledged allegiance to the jihadist group in 2015.

Another resident confirmed the raid and said the girls were likely to end up as brides for the fighters. “They didn’t harm anyone during the raid and they made no attempt to shoot people running away from the village,” said the resident.

In the second incident outside the village of Dumba, close to Lake Chad, the jihadists killed a herdsman who had tried to escape after refusing to pay protection money, said Adamu Ahmed, a member of an anti-Boko Haram militia.

“When the Boko Haram gunmen came for the money they realised he had left with everything and they decided to go after him on their motorcycles,” Ahmed said. “They caught up with him near Dumba where they slaughtered him and shot dead 50 of his cattle.

“They took four women from the man’s family and the rest of the herd,” he said.

The promotion of Barnawi revealed divisions in the group, as Shekau had been criticised for mass killings and suicide attacks against civilians.

Kenyan Police Arrests Two Islamic State Terror Suspects (Photos)

Police in Kenya have arrested a terrorists linked to the Islamic State terror group, whom they described as a key link in its financing as well as human trafficking cartel.
Ali Hussein Ali, alias “The Trusted One” was arrested on March 27 together with his accomplices Ibrahim Abasheikh Mukhtar and Abdi Mohamed Yusuf (aka Dader) in Malindi during a joint operation by Kenyan and other security agencies.

"He played a key role in the Magafe network in facilitating the travel of recruits from Kenya to Somalia to join ISIS in Libya as well as facilitating illegal immigrants to entre Europe via Libya," a statement by the National Police Service Spokesman George Kinoti said.
"He (Ali) facilitates the transfer of money linked to an IS network and traversed several countries including South Sudan, Sudan, Somalia, Dubai and Libya. The money is transferred through various countries before reaching Libya, in order to conceal the transaction trail.”
The terrorist, Mr Kinoti said, was born in Mogadishu, Somalia and entered Kenya in 2010 as a tourist, before moving to South Africa, Sudan and finally Tripoli, Libya where he joined IS.
He then came back to Kenya in November 2016, becoming a key agent for the terrorist organisation and the Magafe human trafficking network in Libya.

'Ali and Mukthtar (his accomplice) houses illegal immigrants in lodges within Eastleigh, Malindi and other areas facilitating their travel to Syria and Europe. The immigrants travel through Kampala via Busia and thereafter to Juba, and finally into Libya,"  Mr Kinoti said.
Mr Kinoti described Mukhtar as a businessman who landed in Watamu.

“He uses his houses to accommodate the terrorists and recruits who are waiting to be smuggled to Libya to join IS,” the statement said.
Yusuf, the other accomplice, also known as Dader, is said to be a long distance driver and a personal driver to Ali.

“He is involved in ferrying of recruits from one destination to another and has links with ISIS and Al-Shabaab agents in Libya and Somalia,” Mr Kinoti said.
The group, the police said, has formed an elaborate ransom seeking cartel where recruits’ and illegal immigrants’ families are asked to send as much as between Sh250,000 and Sh700,000.

“Security agencies have established about 10 families in Kenya are currently being extorted to raise money to pay for ransom. Some of the recruits, whose parents paid ransom, perished at the Mediterranean Sea while trying to cross over to Europe,” said Mr Kinoti.

Check Out This Open Letter To Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu

By Omoesho Oluwaseun

Respected Sir,
I think it will be an exceeding saving of time and more business-like if I avoid all sweet preliminaries and go straight into the object of this letter and say that I am writing to ask you to take up the sponsorship of my education. It is a staggering move! More staggering indeed does it become, when it is realized that I, who am asking for this sponsorship, have nothing in all the world to give as a security for this financial help, excepting my good faith and my brains which again are of value only so long as I continue to breathe the breath of life!

Nevertheless, I here proceed to outline in brief why I want this big upliftment from you.
And I hope you will be kind enough to sacrifice some time to go through what I have to say, even though, in the end you might find yourself able to do me this grand favour.

One great ambition of mine since my boyhood days is to be a football coach, My aim is to be one of the best coach/manager that ever came out from the continent of Africa but I do not have the financial capability to sponsor myself with the education necessary.

I do not have the required traveling documents and resident papers to study in Europe. Sir I need your help in funding my level 1 coaching badge to level 3 coaching badge which is the UEFA B licence in the United Kingdom.

And Sir i need your assistance in the procurement of United Kingdom travelling document, resident permit and the financing of my program. After careful thought, I have come to the conclusion that if I could get a sponsorship sufficient to cover my education expenses, I should go to England, this year and within three years, I should qualify as a football coach.

But where on earth could i get the miraculous sponsorship? Who in Nigeria today could give this sponsorship, free of interest to help his fellow-man? J. Henry Doherty, Esq., Chief Obafemi Awolowo of illustrious memory who did the like to many successful Nigerians are no more. But after meticulous, shifting and weighing, I hit upon you the Asiwaju of the universe.

I have no doubt whatsoever in my mind that out of the bounty with which providence blesses your grit and efforts as a businessman and the Godfather of good deeds , you can well easily afford to advance such a sponsorship. I have no doubt too that as a visionist and progressive man you will be quite happy to give the sponsorship for the pursuit of the project for which I desire it.

If you do me the great favour, not only myself and all that are mine, but also God and Africa will be grateful, I shall have no cause whatsoever to grumble or to blame you, FOR THE RISK IS GREAT.

Omoesho Oluwaseun

Tragedy: Delta Traditional Ruler Dies After Being Shot By Assassins (See Photos)

The people of Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State, have been thrown into mourning following the shocking death of their traditional ruler HRM, Engr. Michael Oviese, who was allegedly shot by suspected assassins two weeks ago.

The monarch who was shot around his lower abdomen, died on Tuesday in an undisclosed hospital where he had been receiving treatment.

He had been attacked by gunmen numbering five at a building along a street near St Michaels College, Oleh, by hoodlums who attempted to dispossess him of his car, as he personally drove himself to visit a closed ally in the area.

In the midst of the scuffle, the gunmen shot him in his stomach and fled the scene. It was gathered that the demise of the monarch was being kept from the public for traditional reasons as palace chiefs continue to keep mum over the incident.

A source who spoke with Punch, said, “The people of Irri Kingdom are mourning. Our traditional ruler is dead. He died of gun shots’ injuries when he was attacked by suspected hired assassins. Because of traditional rites, his death has not been officially announced.

“Only members of the immediate family are aware of the sad development. He died at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) where has been receiving treatment. His death would be formally announced by the palace in line with the tradition of Irri Kingdom.”

A source at the Oleh Divisional Police Station confirmed the incident but added that it was only the palace that can announce his death.
