LETTER WRITING ANSWER:
2).
We are now in a situation in our nation Nigeria, that the price of every single is rising up, which is affecting the majority (The average and poor) of the masses in the country. Every single person in this nation is feeling the impact of the newadministration CHANGE, that majority of the masses voted for.

My write up is not to criticize the past or present administration which most people do, but to list out the major PROBLEMS and SOLUTIONS that can be of help to the present administration and to the masses of the Nation.

I will first by, state the Major Problems faced in the nation and followed by the Solutions that can be applied to solve the problems facing our nation, which are as stated;

-BAD ECONOMY: As we all know the economy of our nation is bad at the present moment, which we all pray for it to get better and we are the only ones that can make it better by cooperating together, but have we ever considered knowing the reasons that our economy is bad? Many of us will say it’s due to Corruption, which i agree with it and also disagree with it a little; you may want to ask why? It’s because we haven’t really checked the sources of the things that are leading to the crumbling down of our economy and we need to tackle them from their sources, which are as follows;

1) VANDALIZATION OF OIL PIPE LINES: We can’t Judge what is happening in this region of our nation if we listen to one side of the coin without listening to the other side of the coin and that is what most people do. The bombing of the oil pipe lines is one of the things affecting the economy of Nigeria because Nigeria depend mostly on a SINGLE STREAM OF INCOME and if the bombing of oil pipe lines continues to happens, it will keep affecting our economy as oil is our major source of income, which is also used for different things in the country.

COMPLAINING AND WAITING FOR THE GOVERNMENT TO PROVIDE THE SOLUTIONS TO YOUR PROBLEMS: Most of the citizens of Nigeria are mostly fond of complaining and blaming the Government of almost every single negative thing that happens in their lives, which just shows signs of lack of thinking of that individual and not rising up against the challenges of his/her life instead of blaming the government always andpeople around you for what is happening to you.

The following are the solutions of which I think can be used to tackle the problems of the Nation.

1)
RESOLVING THE ISSUE OF VANDALIZATION OF OIL PIPE LINES:
I will start by making statement ”We can’t solve an issue by killing one another, because it only leaves the issue unsolved and our coming generation will inherit the issue and keep killing one another” The vandalization of oil pipe lines won’t resolve the issue neither the deployment of soldiers there will solve the issue; instead the government should know the main reasons while this group of people are doing what they are doing. I heard the reason for vandalizing these oil pipe lines was because the people in that region where suffering from many things. Amnesty programme won’t solve the issue, instead the government should
teach these people how to catch fish not how to eat fish by providing them with basic social amenities that these people need, such as; Standard Education, Good Roads, Empowerment Training etc. because there are people there with great ideas and potentials, who need education (knowledge) to develop these ideas into reality and peace will reign in that region and our economy will become strong again, since the nation depends majorly on Oil as its source of income.

2) DIVERSIFICATION OF ECONOMY: A rich man doesn’t have one single stream of income he/she has up to or more than 7 streams of income. We can check the lives of the rich people in our nation, they have numerous sources of income and that’s what the Government needs to start doing, instead of depending on one stream of income. Our government need to start thing big and wide like the way rich men do their businesses. We have natural resources all over
the country in abundance and great citizens with great ideas that the government and capable people can invest in these people with great ideas the resources we have, which will begin to develop Jobs for the people of the nation and also boast the economy.

*:AT LAST I ARRIVED SAFELY:*
Life is full of unexpected surprises. There are many opportunities when one can secretly wish for something exciting to happen – something out of the ordinary. The real surprise is when the wish unexpectedly comes true. I never believed that something like this could ever happen to me; such a thing that would make me stop and look back at the events in awe. I think you would agree that something as simple as being lost in the forest for less than ten minutes should have no influence on my life. If you do agree, that makes both of us wrong.

Throughout my childhood, I loved the wild. My family and I would always go for a walk in the downtown forest of Coote’s Paradise. There were many times I thought of what could happen if we were to lose our way from the trail and have to live off of the land until we found our way back to civilization. I thought it would be the greatest experience ever.

As my brothers and I grew older, we continued to go for these walks with our parents but the dreams of living in the forest I soon forgot. That’s when it happened. We decided to take a different path off the main trail. Before I knew it, the path had disappeared and no one in my family could tell where we had come from. It was so unexpected. It gave me a feeling of excitement that can’t be described. Everything in the forest seemed different. The trees were a deeper shade of green. The birds chirped in a different tone. Vines covered almost every inch of the ground. One part of me never wanted this moment to end. I felt completely free from the stress of my life outside of the woods. It was this moment that I realized that I would much rather stay here for the rest of my life than go back to society.

I think that another reason that I felt carefree was because my parents didn’t panic. They took the situation under control and headed for any open area in hopes to find a map (many of these maps were found throughout the grounds, telling you where you were). From my point of view, at the time, it seemed as if they were excited as I was about losing our way. In the end, it only took my parents ten minutes to find such a map and we were back on the trail in no time.

An experience like this made me think about my place in life. I’m the type who loves seeking out adventures. When we were lost, I realized that I had everything I would ever need with me – my family. They’ve always supported me in everything I do. This experience made me realize that families need to stick together; you don’t realize how much you need them until, for a moment, you think they’ll be the last people you see for the rest of your life.

It’s incredible how much a simple thing like being lost in a forest for ten minutes will affect your outlook on life. Things like not being able to find your way back to where you came from make you appreciate the little things in life.

Looking back on the day, I realize now that it was fate. Moments like that are few and far between and should be taken as a lesson. Surprises like this were, and always will be, an unexpected gift for all.

Photos: 6 Ways Social Media Can Ruin Your Life

Social media has become a part of our daily life and many of us cannot do without it. What you don’t know is that your addiction to social media is affecting your lives negatively. Read on to know how social media can ruin your life.

According to Jumia Travel, phone users should cut down on the hours they spend on social media like Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, for their own good. Here's why.

Checking/updating every second
You have become so attached to Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat that you are checking and updating them every second. The day you don’t access your accounts because you don’t have data, you become hysterical and irrational. It is not a matter of life and death.

Bragging about likes, followers and comments
The number of likes, followers and comments you have has become a thing to brag about and show off. The rule is that the more followers you have, the more traction and engagement you get. True, you do not have to boast about it. Some people go as far as buying likes, followers and even comments.

Posting without thinking
Many of us have converted social media to an abuse platform. A place where we criticise and troll people. As a result, more and more people are in trouble because of what they share and say on social media. Presently, a popular United States-based Nigerian journalist, Kemi Olunloyo, is being prosecuted for the content she shared on social media. Always, think before you share.

Dressing and making up just because you want to share picture on Instagram
This is peculiar to girls. They do not have anywhere to go but they dress up, apply make-up and take beautiful pictures just to post on Instagram or Facebook. It is ridiculous.

Staying up late
We all do this. We spend hours flying from one social media platform to another. Meanwhile, we are very sleepy but we still continue browsing. Surprisingly, they sleep off while on Twitter or WhatsApp. Hence, many of us don’t get enough sleep because of social media.

Seeking social media validation
Seeking social media validation can lead to depression. This is because you wait for others to give you approval for your life activities. If you don’t get the desired response, you become depressed.

You should stop seeking social media validation and live your life without pressure.

The Abductors of Olu Falae Have Been Sentenced To Life Imprisonment (See Photos)

An Ondo State High Court, sitting in Akure, on Tuesday, sentenced to life imprisonment 7 men, who kidnapped a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Chief Olu Falae.

The seven men, who were Fulani herdsmen, were found guilty of kidnapping the elder statesman on his farm in Ilado Village, Akure North area of the state in September, 2015.

The names of the convicts are;

Abubakar Auta, Bello Jannu, Umaru Ibrahim, Masahudu Muhammed, Idris Lawal, Abdulkadir Umar and Babawo Kato.

They were initially arraigned on five counts of kidnapping, abducting, aiding, abetting, kidnapping, conspiracy and armed robbery.

Falae, a former Minister for Finance, spent three days in the den of the kidnappers while a sum of N5m was reportedly paid as ransom to the hoodlums to secure his release.

In his judgment, the trial judge, Justice Williams Olamide held that the seven accused persons were guilty of the kidnapping charges brought against them by the Ondo State Government.

He said the recovered ransom, call logs, identification of the suspects by Falae himself indicted the accused persons for complicity in the crime.

The judge said, “Having listened to both counsel, it has been proved beyond reasonable doubt that they (accused persons) committed the offence with the evidence tendered before me.

“Besides, during the hearing, the victim was able to identify three of them and that the ransom was paid to them. I hereby sentence all of them to life imprisonment.”

He, however, discharged them of two of the charges of conspiracy and armed robbery.

MYSTERY: Lagos Matron Got Missing After She Calls Her Daughter

Family of a 58yrs old matron, Mrs. Winnifred Alofoje, are afraid she may have been abducted after she went missing since last Friday.

Efforts to reach her on her phone were said to have proved abortive, as the line was switched off.

Winnifred, a matron at Blue Sky Hospital, Egbeda, Lagos, was said to have left her house in Hand of Fire City, Igando, at about 9am, for Nurse and Midwifery Council in Yaba to renew her medical licence.

However, her name was said to be missing in a register for people who visited the centre for licences on that day.

At about 12pm that Friday, Winnifred had reportedly called her ailing daughter on the telephone to know how she was faring.

The woman’s son, Itua Alofoye, told Punch that he was notified about her disappearance at night when his father and sister did not hear from her.

Itua said he visited the centre on Saturday, but could not verify whether she got to the place.

He said further efforts to locate her had been futile, adding that she might have been abducted.

He said, “She works with Blue Sky Hospital in Egbeda. Her medical licence expired and she went to the centre to renew it. My sister, Onor, said she spoke with her around 12.45pm on Friday. She just asked about her (Onor’s) health. Since then, her line has been switched off.

“I went to the centre on Saturday, but was unable to meet with any official. I went back today (Monday; they checked the register to know whether she actually came to the centre. Her name was not in the register.

“The family moved into Igando on Wednesday, but I don’t live with them. We learnt there was an accident in the Maryland area on Friday, and we were told to go to the Gbagada General Hospital. But she was not there. We also went to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi Araba, and the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja.

“We reported at the Igando Police Station and the police collected all her details.

She has been practising as a nurse for over 30 years now. Nobody has contacted us about her whereabouts, but I have a feeling she was abducted.”

The Chief Medical Director, Blue Sky Hospital, Dr Femi Olofinshawo, said the matron had gone to the centre for the licence renewal the previous week but could not obtain it due to insufficient funds.

He said, “I was told on Saturday morning that she was missing and I advised her family to check some hospitals because I learnt there was an accident in Maryland.

“She didn’t come to work at all. She took permission to go to renew her licence and the permission was granted. She was not supposed to spend more than five minutes at the centre because she had already filled the necessary forms the first time she went there. She was supposed to make the payment and get the licence.”

We hope the police in Lagos will get on top of the situation.

Motorists Been Sent to Jail In Lagos Over Buying of Goods In Traffic

Person no go fit buy something chop for traffic again? Lagos na wa!

Officials of Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps Agency (LASECORPS) have arrested six motorists at the Ikeja Along end of the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway for allegedly buying goods in the traffic.

Their vehicles; Honda Accent, Hiace, Toyota Hilux, Toyota Sienna, taxi cab and commercial bus, were also impounded by the agency.

According to Punch, 4 passengers and 9 hawkers were also apprehended during the operation, said to have been carried out on Thursday.

They were accused of breaching environmental law and brought before a magistrate, Olayiwola Ogundare of Ogba Magistrate’s Court, who sentenced them to three months’ imprisonment each.

Ogundare, however, gave the accused an option of N10,000 fine each, adding that each of the motorists should pay additional N20,000 fine into the state coffers.

The Head of Public Affairs Unit for LASECORPS, Rahmat Alabi, said the arrest was in line with the Environmental Sanitation Law, 2015.

She said the Corps Marshal of the agency, CSP Bola Jimoh (retd.), stated that LASECORPS was determined to fight the menace of highway hawking.

“The corps marshal believes that the enforcement of the Environmental Sanitation Law, 2015 that makes both buyers and sellers liable, will send the expected signal and halt the prevalence of the illegal highway hawking and street trading in the metropolis. If there are no buyers, there will be no sellers,” she said.

6a)Soil can be defined as the organic and inorganic materials
on the surface of the earth that provide the medium for plant
growth.

6bii Clay soils with 25-40% clay
These soils have a good ability to transport water by
capillary action from deep layers but the rate is slow, so plant
water requirements are not met through capillary water.

2 These soils are darker in colour and soil aggregation is more
distinct

a) *Causes of Desert Encroachment*
1. Human activities: such activities such as over-grazing, over-
cultivation, bush burning, and excessive cutting of firewood
greatly reduce the vegetative cover and expose the land to
drought and desertification. Examples of areas with desert
encroachment are the Sahelian zones of Nest Africa, Ethiopia,
Somalia and Sudan.
2. Change in Weather: The frequent and prolonged dry
weather increases the aridity of affected areas.
3. The southward movement of the dry sub-tropical high
pressure belt results in severe drought in semi-arid regions.

b) *Effects of Desert Encroachment*
1. Large scale disruption of socio-economic life arising from
crop failure and shortage of water and pasture for livestock.
2. Widespread malnutrition and diseases such as kwashiokor
and marasmus.
3. Migration of people from drought areas to more humid
areas.
4. Large refugee population, that are made up of victims of
drought and social insecurity in the semi-arid areas.
5. Disruption of ecological balance and loss of vegetation, soil
and water resources.

c) *Preventive Measures of Desert Encroachment*
1. Conservation of existing vegetation through legislation
against indiscriminate exploitation and felling of forests and
trees.
2. Legislation and strong control against bush burning.
3. Improved grazing practices.
4. Establishment of shelter belts to protect the soil and arrest
the effect of desertification.
5. Afforestation programs.
6. Integrated rural development.

Factors that affect Mass Movement
It is very clear, that mass movement or mass wasting is
movement of weathered material with the aid of gravity,
there are many factors that affect this movement. I shall tell
you about 6 main factors as follows:
1. Where permeable rocks alternate with impermeable rocks,
the permeable rocks are more more prone to mass wasting
than the impermeable rocks.
2. Mass movement is pronounced in areas with steep slopes
where the weathered layer is deep and the weathered
materials are loose. Naturally, the rate of movement of
weathered materials is faster on steep slopes than on gentle
slopes.
3. Mass movement is encouraged if there are earthquakes and
volcanic eruptions.
4. Areas with a high annual range of temperature and a high
frequency of freezing and thawing will encourage soil creep
while areas with a high temperature and occasional torrential
rainfall encourage mudflow.
5. Mass movement is also encouraged if there is no vegetation.
6. The activities of man like mining and herding of animals
encourage the production of mass movement or mass
wasting. This are the factors that affect Mass movement or
wasting.

Driver Who Diverted 600 Bags of Flour and Sold Off The Truck Used In Coveying The Goods Have Been Arrested By RRS

Operatives of Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a driver who connived with three other persons in diverting his company 600 bags of flour before dismantling the truck for sale in pieces.
The suspect, Garuba Lawal, 36, from Kwara State connived with three others now at large and diverted the 600 bags of flour to Sagamu, Ogun State. The product was thereafter given out to a buyer, while he took the truck to Ilorin, Kwara state, where it was dismembered and sold in pieces.
Garuba, who was recruited by the company (name withheld) the same day to move the 600 bags of flour to a bakery in Ibadan, Oyo State, was baited with N2 million by his accomplices to do their bidding.

The suspect, in his statement to the police disclosed that after loading on Sunday, at the Nigeria Flour Mills in Apapa. A young man, whose name was later given as Ismaila from Oyo State, approached him for a discussion.
“He invited me close to my truck just as I was about to drive it out of the loading bay. He asked me how much I have made in since I have been driving truck. I replied him that I just joined the haulage company.
He asked again, have ever seen money in your life? I said no. He asked me again, if you see N2 million, what would you do with it? I answered him that I would quit this truck driving job. Then, he told that he would introduce me to a deal. That was how we started”.
Garuba continued:
“While his two other colleagues were waiting in the Toyota Corrolla they brought. He took me to a corner and brought a cowrie. He told me that I would have to swallow the cowrie as a sign of bond that anybody that divulge the secret between us would die instantly”.
I took the cowrie and swallowed it. Immediately I did that, I observed that whatever instruction he gave me, I was just obeying it without a second thought”.

According to sources, Garuba, in company of the three accomplices diverted the 600 bags of flour to Sagamu instead of its scheduled destination on a Sunday night and got to Sagamu around 2:25 a.m on Monday.
“We entered Sagamu. It was very early in the morning and I couldn’t identify anywhere so much. All along, they acted as escort for the truck to Sagamu. One of them was in the truck with me because the motor boy didn’t follow us”.
The source added that at Sagamu, Garuba was informed that the head of the truck had to be removed for a small because it could not enter the warehouse the goods were to be offloaded.
“We put a new truck head and they gave N50,000. We agreed I drive the truck head to Kwara State in company of two other member of the team to sell it off.
We got to Ilorin around 7:15 a.m. on Monday. I took the two guys to where I live with my wife. They promised to return with my share on N2 million as soon as bank is opened. They collected N15,000 for hotel accommodation from the N50,000:00 they gave me.
When I didn’t see them that day and the following day, I agreed with a buyer to knock down the truck into pieces. The tyres, engine, radiator, chasis etc for N450,000. After, we had dismembered it, the Rapid Response Squad, Lagos arrested me”.
Sources at the haulage firm disclosed that they were yet to see the motor boy that followed him on the said trip. This has fuelled  the suspicion that the motor boy might have been killed by the gang to pave way for a seamless execution of their plans.

Garuba insisted that the motor boy didn’t follow them on the trip. The motor boy’s phone has remained switched off since the incident.

Investigation revealed that the gang that diverted the flour are the same gang which has been involved in several diversions of other products.

Arrested along with him were Jimoh Adeleye, Wasiu Azeez and Adeniran Jacob.

Confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer, Assistant Suprintendent of Police, ASP Olarinde Famous Cole, said that there would be no hiding place for those who come to Lagos to perpetrate crime, adding that the police would fish out of your hiding.

All the suspects have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and prosecution.
