Al Shabab May Not Release Ighalo For AFCON

Odion Ighalo, Super Eagles striker, may not participate in the forthcoming 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon.

An insider with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) told TheCable that Al Shabab, Ighalo’s Saudi Arabia Pro League side, have refused to allow him to link up with his international teammates.

Ighalo, who was the highest goal scorer at the 2019 AFCON, was on the scoresheet for his club in their 4-3 win over Al-Ahli Saudi on Saturday.

TheCable understands that the NFF is doing everything possible to ensure that Al Shabab allow Ighalo to join the three-time African champions on time for the African football showpiece.

“Because Ighalo is their highest goal scorer and he also scored in their game on Saturday, they do not want to release him,” the insider said.

“They do not want him to leave for the AFCON so that he can help them have a shot at winning the league this season.

“You know that he has netted 11 goals for them this season and they are second on the table with a hope of winning the league if they continue to win and Ighalo keeps scoring goals for them.

TheCable had earlier reported how Victor Osimhen and Emmanuel Dennis were replaced in the Super Eagles 28-man provisional list by Henry Onyekuru and Peter Olayinka respectively over controversial reasons.

“But I can assure you that NFF is doing everything possible to ensure that he is released. Because after Osimhen pulled out and Dennis too was not released by Watford, we can’t afford not to have Ighalo in the team,” the source added.

“It will be devastating for the Eagles if Al Shabab refused to allow him join the team for Cameroon.”

Pastor Fatoyinbo: Igbo Christians Very Stingy to God

Biodun Fatoyinbo, the Senior Pastor of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, popularly known as COZA, said the Igbo people are very stingy when it comes to donating to churches and the work of God.

Independent reported that Fatoyinbo disclosed this on Sunday during a sermon at his church in Abuja.

The cleric said that despite their large gear, it takes God for them to donate in church.

Fatoyinbo said, “The Igbo believe in God. It takes God for an Igbo guy to give. They have a large heart but -they believe you shouldn’t work their mind.

“Igbos are 90 percent Christians but no megachurch. You need to tear backgrounds to enter some testimonies. No Church with a Yoruba pastor takes more Igbo songs than COZA. Hustle is a curse! Are you a hustler?

“Some people find it hard to give because they hustled to get that money. In the name of Jesus, the hustle has ceased in your life”.

Squid Game Cryptocurrency Scammers Make Off With $3.3 Million

Anonymous persons behind a Squid Game cryptocurrency have officially made away off with an estimated $3.38 million

The cryptocurrency inspired by Squid Game peaked at a price of $2,861 before plummeting to $0 around 5:40 a.m. ET., according to the website CoinMarketCap.

After jumping more than 310,000% in value as of Sunday night, Squid lost all its value after Twitter flagged the cryptocurrency’s account and temporarily restricted it due to “suspicious activity”.

Before its collapse, the token’s value had spiked to $2,851. The token’s website and social accounts have disappeared, along with a white paper describing Squid.

The token was made available for purchase on 20 October with the idea that the cryptocurrency would be a pay-to-play token to play an online game, inspired by Squid Game, the hit series in which heavily indebted people play deadly versions of children’s games to win cash.

The game was set to launch in November and its promoters said winners would be rewarded with more Squid tokens.

The creators of the cryptocurrency could have made off with as much as $2.1m after the token’s crash, according to Gizmodo.

CoinMarketCap, a cryptocurrency price-tracking website, warned potential buyers before the crash of the cryptocurrency’s possibly fraudulent nature, telling investors to “please do your own due diligence and exercise caution while trading” and warning them that investors were having trouble selling their tokens.

An anonymous Squid investor told CoinMarketCap, “I lost all of what I had in this project” after investing $5,000 into the cryptocurrency.
