Maltreatment of Nigerians in China Has Been Sorted Out – Femi Gbajabiamila Claims

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, said that the maltreatment of Nigerians in China has been resolved between both countries.

The Speaker who disclosed this on Twitter, said the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria has communicated his finding on the issue.

He also expressed hope of future communication being swift and clear even where there are allegations of wrongdoing by citizens of other countries.

He tweeted;

“I’m glad the matter of maltreatment of Nigerians in China has been sorted out between both countries. The ambassador has communicated his findings and we hope that moving forward, communication will be swift and clear and due process will be observed even where there are allegations of wrongdoing by citizens of other countries.It is important that we follow up on this and Nigerians can legitimately go about their business in the People’s Republic of China.I spoke with the Acting Consul General, Mr. Razak Lawal, whose robust defence of the rights of Nigerians in China went viral and I salute the gentleman diplomat for his dedication to duty and his patriotism.”

Med Contour Plastic Surgery Facility Got Shutdown by Federal Government After Several Complaints

The Federal Competition & Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has shut down Med Contour plastic surgery facility, days after a botched surgery at the medical center led to an uproar on social media.

In a report reaching Teelamford, The FCCPC commenced an investigation against Med Contour after receiving petitions against the facility’s owner, Dr Anu Fella. The plastic surgeon was accused of engaging in unprofessional, misleading and potentially injurious conducts.

Med Contour’s facility in Lagos was sealed yesterday April 15, by the agency, in an abundance of caution & consumer safety pending further inquiry.

Gov Seyi Makinde Volunteers To Donate Blood For COVID-19 Research

The Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde has today volunteered to donate his blood for research to find cure to the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to him,  his blood will be studied by experts for the evaluation of post infection protection against the coronavirus pandemic in Nigeria.

Makinde who is a survivor of the disease made this known on Wednesday in a tweet via his official twitter account.

Read below;

“We have been advocating for local solutions to the COVID-19 pandemic in Oyo State.
So, as a COVID-19 survivor, I volunteered to donate my blood to be studied by our experts researching on the “Evaluation of Post Infection Protection Against SARS-COV-2 (COVID-19) in Nigeria”

Recall that the Governor recently advocated for local solutions to the Covid-19 which has killed thousands of people in the world.

Gov Seyi Makinde also said:

“We are looking at local solutions. I know that a lot of people have been calling me all sorts of names on the social media but, from my experience, one thing that I know you have to do to conquer the virus is that you have to boost your immunity. We do have local solutions and, of course, we have to defer to experts’ opinion as part of the home-grown solution to deal with COVID-19.
People may ask if we have been funding the research institutes very well. They may even ask if we are in a position to bring any kind of solution to the world. My answer is yes. Even chewing something like bitter-cola. When the Western world is having flu season, they have flu shots. But here, we have things like catarrh. When we are crossing over from dry season to rainy season, people almost always fall sick. Cold, cough, catarrh, we have ways of dealing with all of these locally.
So, except a solution comes from the Western or Eastern world, I won’t say that we cannot deal with it. I believe we have the capacity. We have the intellect to look at things that work locally and we will keep encouraging that. We have the capacity to also validate some of the results that we are going to be getting.
They did clinical trials for chloroquine and some other medications but these are things we take normally here. So, we are not ruling out local solution to this pandemic.”
