Reasons You Should Never Receive Phone Calls With Your Right Ear But Only With Your Left Ear

I'm sure you have heard about the fact that you should use only your left ear to answer phone calls for some reasons or maybe one reason (the hoax is all over the internet by the way).

According to some researchers, the Apollo Medical Team to be precise, your brain is closer to the right ear, so if you use the right ear to answer phone calls, then your brain will be more prone to radiations (remember they told us that radiation gave rats cancer the last time. Wow!!!).

So, your favorite health blogger took his time to dig out some skeletons, to find the truth about which ear you should use to answer your phone calls, is it left or right?

Now, it makes more sense to answer phone calls with your left hand because your right hand could necessarily be busy, but that should not be a must.

So, according to online and offline sources, you can answer your phones calls with any ear or hand you choose.

The research done by the Apollo Medical Team did not carry any evidence that should make you panic in anyway.

What about radiation to my brain?

Actually, you shouldn't be worried about that, instead you should be worrying about the phone you are using (if you permit me to say worrying).

The image below shows radiation pattern in talking positions. At (a) 0.8 GHz, (b) 1.8 GHz with the right hand. At (c) 0.8 GHz, (d) 1.8GHz with the left hand.

As you can there is no difference in radiation patterns even if you answer with your left ear or right ear or even if you put the phone on your head (Wait! that is not an option).

So, what you should be worried about. The phones you are using. And it is not the radiation you should be worried about, but getting the best signal.

Here are some graphs I was able to dig out you should look into.

Yea, you may not understand all that, well I didn't understand it all either. But here is what you should note.

Some phone brands work better on the right side while others on the left side. So in case you are falling to get a good signal you might want to switch over.

For example HTC Desire performs better on the right side for all band. iPhones depend on the frequencies for better performance, same goes for many phone brands like Sony, Samsung, Xiaomi and Nexus.

Note: if you phone is less than 10% then the phone receives maximum radiation, you should be careful about the amount of radiation you absorb to reduce the risk of having health complications, so its better to charge it up or switch to another battery.

So there you have it. A bit technical, but I hope I simplified it enough for you all.

Effective Ways To Have A Safely Driving In The Rain

Driving in the rain can be very stressful and dangerous because it will be very difficult to see the road and conditions may be terrible. Hence, you have to be extremely careful so that you do not get your car stuck in a ditch or involve in an auto-crash.

This is because the wetter the road, the more the accident. In line with this, Below are 6 useful tips for driving safely in the rain.

(1). Slow down
Like earlier said the road condition worsens when it rains. As such, slow down no matter how late you are to your destination. This is safer because you are less likely to be involved in an accident if you slow down.

(2). Check your wipers
Many Nigerian drivers do not check their wipers until it rains. This is really unsafe. The wiper is important as it helps you to get rid of water on the windshield. So, ensure that all your wipers are working and in good condition.

(3). Turn on your headlights
It is not only in the night you turn on your headlights. You also need it when it rains to help improve visibility.

(4). Dry the brakes
Wet roads mean wet brakes, and the four wheel discs on most cars can be coated with water just when you need them most. This can result in the malfunction of your car. Luckily, some cars automatically touch the pads to the rotors to remove water but you can do this too by gently touching the brakes after splashing through a wet spot.

(5). Don't charge into ditches at high speed
Charging at high speed into ditches can get your car stuck, allow water to find its way into your engine and you can splash water on pedestrians. If your car gets stuck or water finds its way into your engine, you are on your because nobody will be ready to help except you will offer money. As for splashing water, Nigerians will simply reign curses on you.

(6). Inspect your tires
You cannot say when it will rain but you can spot obvious signs it will. Check your tire to ensure that it is not overinflated. The rule is to ensure that the tire is in a good state so that it won't become slippery since the road is likely to be so when it rains.

Smart Ways To Start A Business When Your Account Is Empty

It might surprise you to to know that there are actually ways to start a business with little or no money. So, below are 4 smart ways to start a business when you have no  money to use..

(1). Adjust Your Business Model to Demand Fewer Needs
If you can start your business as a sole employee please do so, pending when you are able to raise enough money to employ other professionals. Also, save the cost of getting and maintaining an office space by working from home, if having an office space is not vital to getting your business up and running. In addition, try to make your company more service-oriented because this kind of business requires little or no financial investment; all you really need are your skills and you can immediately get started providing these services. When you start getting some money, you can use the extra revenue to then grow and establish your business.

(2). Get Friends and Family to Help
Tell your friends, family and even past colleagues about your business and get them to help spread word about your business; this can serve as free marketing and publicity for your business. Encourage as many of them as possible to share your posts about your business on their social media profiles, and to also introduce your brand to their professional contacts. This will help serve as a kind of grassroot marketing that will spread word about your company and introduce it to a larger audience.

(3). Avoid Unnecessary Expenses
Considering you are trying to start a business without money, you need to be as frugal as possible. Leverage on your relationships with people and try to get as much as you can for free, at least until you are able to start making some extra revenue to afford better for your business. Please note that as frugal as you are going to need to be, you should be careful not to let that compromise the quality of your services. This is why you really need to leverage on your business and even personal relationships, so you can get the help and professional input of these people for free (at least until you are able to make enough extra revenue to pay for their services).

(4). Ensure Your Payment Policy is Well Thought Out
This is the problem a lot of startups face; they don’t have a good payment policy. As a result, people take advantage of this weakness to either delay payments or avoid paying for the services all together. Avoid basing your payment policy on what you think your customers want or will be comfortable with, base it on what is going to make your business operate successfully. This is because, after all said and done, it’s not your payment policy that will keep people coming back for more, it’s the quality of your service. Therefore, you should not compromise your service quality and business operation, for an unfavorable payment policy.

Lady Narrates Her Experience With The IPOB Boys

According to her;
All my life I have never had a first hand experience of public harassment like today.

As part of our normal routine in the office and the scheme at large, we left for facilities inspection at Aba, and off Aba along port Harcourt road.

After we were done and coming back, we got to enyimba Junction/bakassi, coman see IPOB boys terrorizing people, everyone running for their lives.

We kept on moving but slowly and noticed that the road was kinda dry. Before we knew it ipob boys rushed out from nowhere and attacked our hilux, they where more than 15...

Carrying different weapons, one of them used shovel and hit the hilux hard, before I could blink my eyes they opened the door and started dragging us out, I heard my oga chorused , NO please, we are BIAFRANS " I joined them o, and was shouting, biafra, biafra.. This boys weren't even listening, one used a heavy big stone and was hitting my oga, others were removing the car Cover seat that's made of Nigeria color /coat of arm. That we are not biafra, that's why we had that on, that were is our flag or means of identification....

I didn't know what to do, they dragged me outta the car, I came down didn't know what to do, I thought of hiding under the hilux but no way because they were just everywhere. I was just praying my last prayer just incase they decide to kill us. Ever seen or witnessed any case of jungle justice? Now, that's exactly the scene today.

The other part of the road was another set of ipob boys damaging a truck full of goods, and another dangote truck full of cement on fire already.
All this I witnessed/saw within 20mins...

Finally I heard oya enter your motor and run for your life.
We sped off.
It was just I, the coordinator, and the driver. I started asking the driver why they allowed us go, our driver said he gave them 500naira that's why they said we should go.

On our way still driving carefully, because they are everywhere, we saw soldiers in their convoy coming down to calm the situation.

On entering umuahia, the check points are tight, every living thing except the driver inside a bus, car, keke must come down and raise his/her two hands up to be sure the person isn't with any weapon.
Oh well...

Until there's a legal/defined way to go about this biafra thingy, there will never be peace. If you haven't experienced this ipob boys and there madness you will not understand , it's not about writing epistle on Facebook in the comfort of your home that they should give us biafra this and that. This boys are terrorizing us, their people, the igbos per se.
Imagine if they had killed us or any of us. Just like that.
Most of this ipob boys are touts, and thieves, I almost forgot to say that they took our drivers phone too.
And returned it when he gave them the money.

This is too much really.

My heart is still heavy.

Find attached the selfies I took before and after, u'll notice the car seat cover that was removed. I couldn't take pictures of the other scenes because I was scared.

I just Thank God we came out of this alive.

Story of How A Female Nigerian Corper Was Freed By Ritualists

Love yourself. A young lady, Juliet who is a corp member has shared a testimony of how she was "released" by suspected ritualists last week.

Read her story below:

I know it will come as a shocker to you but I’m glad it will electrocute the devil. On Thursday morning at about 5am I boarded a bus at my bustop and another man wanted to enter but the conductor refused saying he had N1,000 this early morning but the man didn’t say anything so how did the conductor know? They pretended like they were picking up another but when she tried to enter, they drove off.
The conductor told the man beside me that where is he going to that he paid 30 naira and so he got up trying to point out where he will alight and the next thing was someone grabbed my head, neck, tied my eyes, covered my mouth and I was screaming Jesus and they pulled me to the floor of the bus. Removed every metal on my body, tied my legs together, touching my private parts and he wanted to tie my hands I said while crying that I have gone through a lot in life that they should please have mercy on me.

The bus was silent when they saw my hand and then they started murmuring. The main boss asked them to unfold my eyes and mouth and asked what happened to my hand and I said it was how I was born and I was a (Corps Member) going to my place of primary assignment

He was quite and then told me they would let me go and cleaned my eyes, gave me my belongings, told me sorry and dropped me off at a point.

Then I appreciated God for molding me this way from birth because if it was from an accident they might not let me go and if my hand were complete just say bye bye to earth.

Am sorry God for being ashamed of it but it is the people of the world that always made me feel incomplete.

All thanks to God

MUST READ: New Ways Scammers Steal Money From People's Bank Accounts

A young man, Etuky Abasiono, who fell victim to scammers who now use a new method to wipe out money from people's accounts, shared the story warned people. See what he wrotebelow:

"About a week ago, I boarded a bus at Obanikoro (Lagos) heading for Costain/Orile, highlighted at Ojuelegba, on getting past the traffic light, I became conscious of the fact that my phone was missing. I dialed my number and it kept ringing & ringing till it was switched off.

I kept faith and was hoping for a possible reunion but that was the biggest mistake of my life.

Later in the day I dialed my number and it rang, I was glad thinking the fellow had removed my sim from my phone and inserted it into another phone just to get to me but after 3 trials without picking, switched off was all I heard (my android phone has password, so its either my phone was formatted or sim inserted into another phone that made the ringing possible after it was switched off prior to this time, I should have known). Then I became worried but still kept faith, stupidest mistake.

While in a bus heading home, I decided to use the phone of the passenger who was right next to me so as to tell my parents I'm phoneless cos they'd be worried for sure, only for me to be told he faced similar situation & had his account emptied using his number, then it dawned on me that they could have been transacting at the time my phone was ringing that evening.

I got home & ran to the nearest ATM machine, on seeing my balance my face dropped, they had emptied my account. Didn't know when I busted into tears, seeing yourself loose money you worked hard for to a total stranger is not what I will wish even an enemy. I wept at that ATM stand for almost 20 minutes till I was able to gather strength home, I thank God for taking me home cos I still don't get how I crossed that Ikorodu Expressway seeing 2 oncoming heavily loaded tankers barefooted.

I'm not afraid of starting all over but I'm just scared someone else might not take it as light as I did. So I'm using this medium to bring everyone to alertness. Be conscious of your phone!!! How they did the transaction I have no single idea and if you are using GTbank you sure need to double up.

Probably if I'd read or was aware of such occurrences, would have just blocked my account & number immediately".

10 Things You Should Never Do While Going/During a Job Interview

In all likelihood, you've already heard the standard job interview tips: Give a firm handshake, make eye contact, have questions prepared, say and follow up later with a heartfelt thank-you. So, hopefully you've got those basics down already.

But even seasoned professionals can use a brush-up on modern interview etiquette before heading in to discuss an opportunity you’re really excited about. In fact, the longer you’ve been working, the more laissez-faire you might inadvertently become about your interview skills, especially if you’ve had a few great jobs and feel like they’ve prepared you to talk to anyone.

That might be the case, but you still might be surprised by some of the things that bug HR people and managers when they’re meeting an assembly line of job candidates.
So, below are things you should never to do if you want to be sure not to rub someone the wrong way:
1). Show Up 2 Minutes Before the Interview
It’s not enough time to slip into a bathroom for a quick mirror check—key for making sure you don’t have anything in your teeth or smudged lipstick and also for just making sure you feel and look ready. “Always arrive early enough to check your face in the bathroom or duck into a nearby Starbucks,” says leadership consultant and adviser Dana W. White, author of the new book Leader Designed: Become the Leader You Were Made to Be. “It’s amazing what can go wrong with makeup and hair in a fairly short amount of time, especially on a warm day and you’re nervous. Keep oil-blotting sheets on you, or use a clean toilet seat protector to blot away sweat on your face or underarms.
2. Rock a Week-Old ManicureTo put it bluntly, chipped nails look gross—and they’re a common pet peeve among managers. Make sure your nails are clean and well-groomed, whether you’re wearing a color or going natural.
3. Wear Something Wrinkled“It’s always shocking to me how many people will wear wrinkled clothes to an interview as if no one will notice,” says White“People notice if your pants or shirt isn’t pressed, so iron or steam everything.” That even goes for a blouse you’re wearing with jeans to a super-casual office interview. Wrinkles look sloppy and generally send a message that you don’t care, which at a job interview, is the exact opposite impression you want to give.
4. OD on PerfumeAn HR manager at one of New York’s major magazine umbrella companies once told me that her biggest pet peeve during interviews is when someone walks in sporting a strong cologne or perfume. Leave the fragrance at home!
5. Ignore the ReceptionistBad idea. You don’t know who is friends with whom in this office—and it’s also bad karma to act dismissively toward people whom you don’t outrightly need something from. “Be friendly, smile, shake their hands,” says White. “Because people are nervous or arrogant, they can treat greeters, receptionists, or assistants as if they’re invisible. When you leave, your interviewer could ask them, ‘What did you think of her?'”
6. Come Across as BlaséSmile and make it clear you’re happy to be there, being considered for this opportunity. Sounds basic, but a lot of people’s nerves can make them appear preoccupied or overly serious. “Believe it or not, one of the biggest mistakes people make is not appearing excited or interested in the job they’re interviewing for,” says Lisa Skeete Tatum, founder and CEO of Landit, a technology platform that aims to increase the success and engagement of women in the workforce. “Show enthusiasm!”
7. Pretend You Know Something You’re Clueless AboutWhile it’s important to appear (and actually be) prepared, it’s not worth lying your ass off pretending you’re aware of something the interviewer is talking or asking about and risk looking like an idiot. This is one instance where you should not fake it until you make it. “Don’t be afraid to ask questions or say, ‘Excuse me, I’m not familiar with that term,'” says White. “Yes, it might reveal something you don’t know, but you can use it as an opportunity to learn and allow the person to educate you. Generally, everyone loves to show up as an expert, so let them.”
8. Ask About SalaryDon’t ever bring up salary or benefits during a first meeting: It can come across as presumptuous. “Be prepared with a polite answer if you’re asked,” says Skeete Tatum. If you’re meeting with HR, expect them to ask for your minimum compensation requirement; if they ask what you’re currently making, politely give a general range and then mention the range that you’re looking to make with this next move. Don’t box yourself in with specific numbers at this point.
9. Skip the “Closer” QuestionMost interviewers will ask you if you have any more questions for them, or if there’s anything else you’d like to say before wrapping up. “Go in for the closer with your short bullet points on why you’re excited and a great fit for the opportunity,” says Skeete Tatum. “If something you wanted to communicate wasn’t covered in the interview, use this moment as an opportunity to highlight it. Leave them with something great to think about.” Even if it’s just reiterating your excitement about the opportunity!
10. Leave Before Asking About Next Steps.
Make sure you know who’s getting in touch with whom next, so you can follow up appropriately. “Thank them for their time and ask when and with whom you may follow up,” says White. “This will prompt them to tell you whether they or their assistant will reach out—or whether the onus is on you.”

Wickedness: Boyfriend Made Girlfriend Suffer As He Doused Her In Gas & Set Her Alight (Photo)

A mum-to-be was forced to give birth in agonizing pain after her boyfriend doused her in gas and set her alight.

The boyfriend who carried out the horrific assault "was not ready to be a father", the victim's father claims.

Most of Andrea Grinage's body was covered in devastating burns over most of her following the brutal attack.

But the brave 30-year-old, from Maryland, America, courageously gave birth to a healthy baby girl seven weeks early.

Andrea and her baby daughter, Journey Aleah, are now recovering.

Andrea, who already has two sons aged eight and 15, has lost everything in the fire.

Her father, Arthur Grinage Snr, has now launched a fundraising campaign to help pay for this daughter's treatment on her long road to recovery.

In a GoFundMe appeal he wrote: "Everything was lost in the fire and she must begin a new with your help.
She has a long road to recovery and unknown medical cost. PLEASE stop domestic violence."

The suspect, who has not been named, was identified by brave Andrea, who also told officers he had threatened to target other members of her family in Washington.

Teelamford readers, what do you think should be done about this?. Kindly share your thoughts.

Famous Comedian, Ushbebe Narrates His Experience In Brazil During 2014 FIFA World Cup Competition

The comedian spoke about his experience in Brazil to Joy Marcus. And for those who haven't visited the country, reading this is as good as been there.

Comedian Ushbebe

Read below..

Where is the most interesting place you have been to recently?

That would be Brazil. I went for the 2014 FIFA World Cup competition and I spent about five days there. I stayed in Sao Paulo.

Did you travel alone or with a group?

I travelled with my wife.

What was the first thing that struck you about the place?

I was surprised that Brazilians didn’t understand or speak English language. It was a big shock for me.

Did the places you visited while there share any similarities with Nigeria?

Some places in Brazil looked a bit like Nigeria, but Nigeria is a better place to be because you will find people who can, at least, speak Pidgin English. In Brazil, they don’t know how to converse in English. In order for me to be able to communicate with them, I always had to speak into my phone and an app on the phone would translate to a language understood by them. However, they have more beautiful places than Nigeria does.

What did you find particularly impressive about Brazil?

I visited where they do the Formula One car race. It was a unique experience for me, because I saw it live. The experience was different from watching the race on television. I visited the beach, and I also had to go to the police station at some point because I was looking for my passport. They could not speak English to me, and I had to wait till God provided an interpreter.

What was the highlight of your trip?

Aside from going to their mall, which was an awesome experience; the highlight was when we were rushing to the airport to go and watch a match. When we got there, Nigerians had already taken over the place. This made some of us not to go because we got there late, and some senators and commissioners who insisted on flying were already there.

How was the weather as of the time you visited?

The weather was relatively okay because it was more like summer; it wasn’t too cold. In Brazil, they like to stay under the sun. There were also lots of transgender people there; you won’t even be able to differentiate men from women.

Did you try any local food?

I tried their food but I did not enjoy it.  We had to look for where we could get to eat Nigerian food like eba. The number of Igbo boys in the market was alarming, and we eventually ate fufu and okra soup.

Did you experience any culture shock?

I won’t say yes because their culture is not too odd. I have been to some North American countries where I experienced stranger cultures. It was just the language barrier that posed a problem. Then, when the World Cup was ongoing; whenever their home team won any match, there was free flow of enjoyment, and you could kiss anybody, or do anything you like. In fact, they are too corrupt in that country.

If you could import just one thing to Nigeria from that country, what would it be?

It would be Brazilian hair; they had it in surplus and their prices were good.

What can Nigeria learn from Brazil?

The country is suffering very well; they have their problems and we don’t have much to learn from them. They are only slightly different from third world countries, but their electricity is very stable. It’s a rough country too and there are lots of theft incidents. The only thing I enjoyed was the presence of well-dressed policemen, and one could approach them for anything. Unlike back here in Nigeria where you don’t find policemen except when they want to collect money from you.

Were the people friendly towards you?

Yes, they were very friendly and welcoming.

Did they know much about Nigeria?

Well, Nigeria wasn't strange to them, especially to the traders. Nigerians come to buy things from them.

What would a first-time visitor find most striking about Brazil?

The fact that they don’t understand English. That should strike anybody because the first thing you want to do when you visit a place is to communicate. A first timer needs to be prepared. If I had known, I would have had my Google language translator and anything that would have helped me overcome the language barrier better.

How would you assess their entertainment industry, compared to Nigeria?

They like football a lot more than music or movies. But I know they like music too because everywhere was always lively and they like to party. They should be ahead of us in entertainment because of the constant electricity that they enjoy.

What’s the best travel advice you can give?

You should have lots of money with you, and have a backup plan; someone you can call when you run out of cash or you become stranded.

Hiding Perfect 30-Minute Shoulder Workout You've Never Come Across

Thirty minutes in the weight room isn't much time—but it's enough, if you know how to take advantage of it. Any single muscle group can be trained hard and trained well in the length of a sitcom episode, but to do it you'll need laser focus and a good plan.

Thirty minutes in the weight room isn't much time—but it's enough, if you know how to take advantage of it. Any single muscle group can be trained hard and trained well in the length of a sitcom episode, but to do it you'll need laser focus and a good plan.
Don't believe me? Give this delt workout a try.
The Perfect 30-Minute Shoulder Workout
1
Cable Rear Delt Fly
3 sets, 20,15,10 reps
2
Seated Dumbbell Press
2 sets, 12,10 reps
1 set, failure (dropset)
3
Superset
3 sets
Front Plate Raise
10 reps
Seated Side Lateral Raise
10 reps
4
Standing Low-Pulley Deltoid Raise
2 sets, 12 reps
1 set, failure (rest-pause set)
5
Upright Barbell Row
2 sets, 25 reps (with wide-grip)

Rear Delt Fly

The Perfect 30-Minute Shoulder Workout
Rear delts are a neglected group so we're going to bookend this workout with moves to make them a priority. You can do these flyes with cables or a reverse pec-deck if your gym has one. Either way, give it 3 sets of 20, 15, and 10 reps, taking 60 seconds of rest between. Remember, as the reps go down, the weight goes up.

Seated Dumbbell Press

Dumbbells allow you to take the weight lower than either a barbell or machine. Lower the weights as far as you comfortably can with good form on each rep. Stop short of lockout at the top so you can keep tension on the delts and off the triceps.
The Perfect 30-Minute Shoulder Workout
The first two sets are straight sets, first 12, then 10 reps. For the third set, perform a dropset. Rep to failure, reduce the weight, and keep going. You've got 60 seconds to rest between the first two sets. Don't rest on the dropset until you reach failure twice.

Superset: Front Plate Raise With Seated Lateral Raise

Two for the price of one—what's not to love? For the front raises, hold the plate at 10 and 2, just like you would a steering wheel. Raise the weight to shoulder height, being sure to keep the traps out of the movement, then lower with control. Do not arch your back or cheat your shoulders by letting momentum do all the work.
Once you hit 10 reps, grab two dumbbells, have a seat, and knock out those lateral raises. Sitting helps you focus on the lateral head better than standing. If you really want a challenge, use kettlebells for this exercise instead of dumbbells. You get no rest between exercises and 60 seconds between supersets.

Single-Arm Cable Lateral Raise

This exercise focuses on each lateral head individually. Cables keep tension on the muscle and give you a fixed path of motion, which only helps you at this point.
The Perfect 30-Minute Shoulder Workout
Your first two sets are straight sets. On the final set, go to failure, count to 10, and do more reps. Do this with each side. Since time is of the essence, you only get 45 seconds of rest between sets.

Wide-Grip Upright Row

You started with rear delts, and now it's time to finish them off. Use a barbell with light weight so you can focus on the contraction. Use at least a shoulder-width grip, and if you can go a little wider, do it. The wider the better for targeting the back of the shoulder.
The Perfect 30-Minute Shoulder Workout
Pull up to approximately shoulder height—the bar should never reach your chin. Complete 25 reps, then rest 45 seconds before tackling your second and final set.
And you're done! Boulder shoulders in under 30 minutes. You'll even have a couple of minutes left to admire the pump.
