5 Effective Ways To Handle Social Media Backlash

You do not have to be a celebrity before tantrums are thrown at you on social media. Very few people care whether you are right or wrong, they just criticise. Before you know it, you are at the top of the trends on Twitter. Ironically, what you said may not be as a result of a tweet or Instagram post but an interview.

An example is the backlash Falz faced after he chastised some musicians for glorifying Yahoo Yahoo (Internet Fraud) in their songs.

Another example is the case of Kemen in #BBNaija who trended for days because of the encounter he had with Tboss.

The impact of these backlashes can be between mild or severe depending on the individual. Hence, if poorly handled, it can escalate into something you never imagined.

Here are five (5) ways to deal with social media backlash.

1). Delete offending materials
If you tweeted or shared a post that is causing quite a controversy, you should delete it immediately. Do not try to be defensive or justify it unless you want it to spiral out of control. Even when it does, you should still delete it. Regardless, trust social media trolls, they would screen grabbed it. Do not mind this. The important thing is that the post should not be found on your handle or page.

2). Have friends around you
For individuals who face social media criticisms, they should have their friends and family members around them. The fact is they cannot go through this on their own. When the backlash gets to them, all sorts of thoughts begin to get into their head including committing suicide. That is the extent it can push some people. With trusted friends around, you will feel loved despite the shots you are getting on social media.

3). Leave social media for a few days
There are uncountable trolls on social media who just want to make you feel bad. They reign abuses and curses on you. If you are still with your phone, you may be tempted to reply. You do not need to. Just abandon your social media for a few days and return when everything has died down.
Apologise if you are wrong To err is human to forgive is divine. In this case, you should not concern yourself about whether you will be forgiven or not, just apologise and move on. Some will even come at you for your apologising.

4). Ignore
You can give it the silent treatment and continue with your life. You are getting attention notwithstanding if it is negative or positive. This is easier for celebrities.

5). See a psychologist
You can see a psychologist especially if the person's self-esteem has been battered and shattered.

Some Technologies That Will Define Our Lives In The Next Decade

There is no gainsaying that technology is now a major part of our life. Some of these techs are playing significant roles in our lives, like social media; others are for the future.

These future techs will soon become widely available and if you are not prepared for it, you may find yourself out of the game. It will change a lot of things, especially in the way you work.

Here are some of these technologies that will define our lives in the future.

1). Internet of Things (IoT)
The Internet of things (IoT) is the ability of different devices to be able to communicate because they are embedded with electronics, software, sensors, actuators, and network connectivity which enable these objects to collect and exchange data. They are usually regarded as connected devices or smart devices. This also includes Wearable technologies.

2). Virtual Reality
Virtual Reality (VR) is a computer technology that adopts headsets to produce realistic images, sounds and other sensations that simulate a user's physical presence in a virtual or imaginary environment. Virtual Reality has been around for awhile now but it only recently becomes widely available. The technology has changed the way people explore. A good example of this is Google Earth VR that allows users to fly over a city, stand on mountains and even go into space.

3). Autonomous Vehicles
Google, Apple, Uber, Samsung, and other car production companies are investing billion of dollars in developing driverless or autonomous vehicles. Driverless cars are vehicles that do not require any human to drive it and does not need any fuel. A network of sensors has made this possible. There have been testing rides as well as several failures. But pretty soon, very few people will drive fueled SUVs.

4). Augmented Reality
A technology that superimposes a computer-generated image on a user's view of the real world. It is widely used in the gaming world. Pokemon Go is a perfect example of Augmented Reality.

5). Artificial Intelligence
Artificial Intelligence is the ability of a computer system to perform tasks that usually require human intelligence. Today, you find robots that serve as a receptionist, customer service and perform surgeries. In addition to this, you have voice assistant AIs like Siri, Alexa, or Cortana.

Photo: Beautiful Lady Who Slept With Different Men For Money Says Demons Attracted Men To Her

Anywhere she went, men were drawn to her. Be it in a restaurant, walking on the road or attending a social function – a seductive spirit would always attract them to her. A casual glance. An exchange of numbers. A subsequent meeting. For Vivian Iwuchukwu, sleeping with men became not just a means of fleeting pleasure but an actual source of livelihood.

Scaling through university – her education and that of her siblings funded through such frivolous activities – Vivian struggled to find a job constantly surrounded by nagging men. Strangely, the calibre of men coming her way were the rich and influential in society. They were often married and began giving her the attention due their wives – leading to ugly scenarios at home.

Anytime she got a job, miniscule issues would lead her to angrily resign – pushing her back down the path of lust and fornication.

However, all the money accrued through such illicit means left as swiftly as they came. Searching for solution, Vivian was deceived to visit a shrine where she underwent an initiation involving the exchange of money and bathing in a swampy river. However, the problems only seemed to surmount, as did the amount of money the spiritualists were demanding from her.

Tuning into Emmanuel TV one day as her life had reached its lowest ebb, she prayed along with Prophet T.B. Joshua. The following morning, Vivian said something had ‘opened her eyes’, realising that she needed deliverance. Mustering the courage to come to The SCOAN, she received prayer from Prophet T.B. Joshua last week where the evil spirits responsible for her plights were exposed and expelled. After her deliverance, Vivian testified that her body felt so light and all thoughts of her past had left.

She spoke of the newness of life she had experienced since her deliverance, adding that her heart was rippling with joy.

Vivian advised young ladies especially to not seek after the flashy things of the world but get involved in a living Church and seek the face of God.

Tech: Samsung Electronics Drop In Employees For The First Time

For the first time in seven years, the headcount of Samsung Electronics came down in 2016 mainly due to its restructuring in China, the company data showed on 2 July. The number of employees of the world’s largest smartphone and memory chip manufacturer fell 5.2 percent to 308,745 in 2016 from 3,25,677 the previous year, Yonhap news agency reported. By region, domestic employees dropped 3.8 percent to 93,204, and those abroad declined 5.8 per cent to 2,15,541.

As of the end of last year, the percentage of the employees at Samsung’s companies abroad dropped 0.4 percent to 69.8 percent.

The number of Samsung employees in China fell 17.5 percent to 37,070 last year from 44,948 the previous year while those in North and South America surged 8.5 percent to 25,988. A company official attributed the cut in the number of employees partly to the sale of its printing business to HP.

Corporate restructuring in Samsung’s factories in China and other Asian countries also led to the overseas manpower cut, he said. The ratio of female employees accounted for 44 percent last year, down two percentage points from a year earlier.

The proportion of female managers and executives, however, rose to 12.7 percent and 6.3 percent last year from 12.4 percent and 4.5 percent, respectively, from a year earlier.

Samsung sold the printing business to HP in 2016 with an approx. price of $1.05 billion.

Tech: Sales Team May Drop as Microsoft Set To Emphasis on Cloud-computing Products

With Microsoft putting emphasis on its Cloud-computing products instead of licences for boxed software, the technology giant is likely to reorganise its sales groups, resulting in layoffs, media reported. A formal announcement could be made by next week, The Seattle Times reported, citing a source familiar with the matter.

week, The Seattle Times reported, citing a source familiar with the matter.

Plans for a Cloud-focused reorganisation were reported earlier by the Puget Sound Business Journal, which said the shift will bring some of the most significant changes to the sales force in years.

Judson Althoff, Executive Vice-President, Worldwide Commercial Business, Microsoft, has been critical of company’s former sales approach, which he characterised as an attempt to sell Azure, Microsoft’s platform for on-demand computing power and software services. The sales group of Microsoft was affected in an earlier layoff announcement.

The layoffs announced in July 2016, which targeted 2,850 cuts over the course of Microsoft’s just-ended fiscal year, included at least 900 employees of the sales group. Microsoft had also added to the payroll about 1,000 salespersons with specialties in selling Cloud-computing products, Althoff had earlier said.

Microsoft recently acquired an Israel-based cloud management company Cloudyn.

The company announced “Microsoft has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Cloudyn, an innovative company that helps enterprises and managed service providers optimise their investments in cloud services,”.

Sport: FIFA President, Gianni Infantino To Introduce Video Assistant Referees (VAR) at 2018 World Cup

FIFA president Gianni Infantino wants to introduce video assistant referees (VAR) at next year's World Cup following a "successful" trial at the Confederations Cup.

VAR, which involves two assistant referees watching the action remotely while making the match referee aware of any mistakes, has been used in recent weeks at the Confederations Cup in Russia.

It has come in for some criticism at the tournament due to the time needed to make certain decisions, but Infantino is still determined to see it implemented at the 2018 World Cup.

"Nothing is standing in the way of using VAR [at the World Cup], as far as I'm concerned," Infantino told a news conference. "So far it has been successful. We are learning, we are improving, we are continuing the tests."

He added: "Without VAR, we would have had a different tournament, and a tournament which would have been a little less fair."

Infantino did, however, say that certain aspects of VAR still needed to be improved upon.

"We need to work still on some of the details, on the communication and the speed of the decisions being taken," he said.

FIFA referees committee chairman Pierluigi Collina also accepted that VAR still needs some refining.

"We are in a sort of work in progress," Collina said. "We see the very positive result we had but we are aware that we can improve. This is normal."

Some Things You Should Never Think of Removing From Your Budget

A budget is important for you to check your spending and finances. So, in a bid to survive on your budget, you may want to throw out some things. However and at the same time, there are things that are too important to get rid of.

Therefore, no matter what you earn, they must always feature in your budget.

Here are some things to never remove from your budget.

1). Car repair and maintenance
If you own a car, then you know that it could go haywire anytime. So, to keep your car in good working condition, you must make arrangements for repairs and maintenance in your budget. Ignoring this will result in the car completely breaking down and you have to spend more.

2). Healthy food
Your body needs to function and the fuel that can make this possible is nutritious and healthy food. But quite a number of people eat junk. Try to budget for healthy food so that you can eat proper food even if it is once a day.

3). Insurance
Nigerians are still skeptical about insurance. It is one of the first things that will be axed from a budget. But you cannot downplay the importance of insurance. Insurance is a contract, represented by a policy, in which an individual or entity receives financial protection or reimbursement against losses. Important insurance cover includes health, car, and fire insurance. Interestingly, the premium for this insurance is quite affordable.

4). Home repair and maintenance
If anything is damaged in your home, you should do something about it immediately before it becomes a huge problem. If you take care of that leak or crack now, it will be a less expensive than if you wait until it becomes very bad that you have no choice than to repair it.

5). Medical care
Going for a medical checkup at least twice a year will help guard against any form of disease or ailment. Like they say, prevention is better than cure. So, do not joke with your health and do not wait until you are ill before you accommodate medical care in your budget.

Police In Search of Man Who Killed This Young Lady (Photo)

Police officers in three states are searching for a man who fatally shot a Pennsylvania high school graduate in the head after a road rage incident.

Bianca Nikol Roberson, 18, was driving home after a shopping trip Wednesday, her father, Rodney Roberson, told NBC Philadelphia.

In a press conference with reporters, Chester County District Attorney Tom Hogan confirmed that around 5:30 p.m., while traveling southbound on Route 100 in West Chester, Roberson and the suspect tried to merge into one lane at the same time. It was then, Hogan said, that Roberson's green Chevy Malibu started to jostle with the suspect's faded red pickup truck. The man pulled out a gun and shot her in the head, Hogan said.

Roberson's car went off the road into the adjacent woods. Hogan told reporters she died instantly. The defendant continued driving along the shoulder of the highway and fled the scene.

"This was a senseless and brutal act of violence," Hogan said of the murder.
Witnesses described the suspect as a medium-build white male between the ages of 30 and 40 with blonde or light-colored brown hair.

Roberson's father, fighting tears, said he could see at the site she was forced off the road. "And I can visualize it in my mind, what happened to my daughter, and I know she was scared," he told NBC Philadelphia.

Roberson had just graduated from Bayard Rustin High School and was planning to attend Jacksonville University in the fall. "We were all excited for her. She was excited. We were just happy for her," her father said.

Chief Joseph Gleason, of the West Goshen Police Department, said police have yet to find tags on the vehicle.
