Man Paid Off Troublesome Wife With N5m Car

A businessman Augustine Anyia has told an Agege customary court, Lagos, that his wife, Nneka, asked for N5m, car, N100,000 monthly allowance as pay off; as he urged the court to dissolve his seven-year-old marriage due to lack of care, lesbianism and threat to his life.

Augustine, a father of two, who resides in Ajah, Lagos, told the court:

“My wife is quarrelsome and quick to violence, especially when she demands for money or anything and l don’t respond to on time.”

The petitioner told the court that he married the respondent after six months of courtship on his return from the United States, but that “There has been no peace of mind in this marriage: she is a party freak and does not have any iota of respect for me.”

Augustine also alleged that she engages in lesbianism with her friends. He said: “I see all sorts of pictures of n*ked women with my wife, sent to my phone by her friends. They inform me about their acts of lesbianism, asking me to stay away from her.”

The man told the court that on two different occasions, he moved out of his house due to threats to his life, adding “whenever we have any misunderstanding, she always threatens to kill me. The stress is unbearable; there is no longer peace of mind in this loveless marriage.”

Pay off
The man also alleged that his wife reported him at a police station and when he was summoned, the respondent demanded that he pay her off as she was fed up with the marriage.

He said: “My wife demanded for N5 million, a car, N100,000 monthly allowance for the children and to be responsible for the children’s school fees.

“I agreed to these and I gave her all that she requested for.”

She moved out of the house in October 2016 and refused me access to the children till date. The man, who described his wife as “a troublesome and mischievous lady,” urged with the court to dissolve the marriage because he was no longer interested in her troubles.

He also urged the court to grant him access to his two children.

The wife was, however, not present during the proceedings. Court’s President, Philip Williams, adjourned the case till June 22 for further hearing.

How Manchester United Emerges The Europa League Winner

Star player, Paul Pogba, propelled Manchester United towards a 2-0 victory over Ajax last night in a Europa League final rendered with emotion by this week’s terror attack in Manchester.

AFP reports that it was a night that began with a moment of silence, then applause, in memory of the 22 people who died at Manchester Arena on Monday. It ended with United completing their trophy collection through goals from Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Victory enabled United manager Jose Mourinho, who said prior to the game that he and his players were struggling not to think about the tragedy, to bring his maiden Old Trafford season to a successful conclusion.

He had already guided United to glory in the League Cup, despite a 6th-place finish in the Premier League, the Europa League win means his side will return to the Champions League next season.

United became only the fifth club – after Juventus, Ajax, Bayern Munich and Chelsea – to have won the Champions League, the Europa League and the now defunct European Cup Winners’ Cup.

Congratulations to you Mourinho, Congratulations Manchester United..

New Committee to Fix Minimum Wage Been Approved By Federal Executive Council

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) chaired by Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has approved a 29-member National Minimum Wage Committee to negotiate with labour unions and work out a new minimum wage.

Labour Minister, Dr. Chris Ngige announced this at the end of the meeting in Abuja, and said members will be drawn from the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, Manufacturers Association of Nigeria and the Organised Private Sector and the NLC and TUC.

Labour has tabled a minimum wage of N50,000, almost three times more than the present N18,000, being paid with difficulties by many states.

On Friday, Ngige had said FEC would review the report of the joint committee on the National Minimum Wage.

He said the 16-man Technical Committee on Minimum Wage and Palliatives had submitted its report to the main committee, headed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

“The report was adopted just last week by the 29 -man joint committee.

“So the report is now being taken to the Federal Executive Council (FEC) for approval next week(this week) and then the Acting President will constitute a National Minimum Wage Review Committee.

“This National Minimum Wage Review Committee will then fix a new minimum wage for the country.

“It has become imperative for a new minimum wage, because the last minimum wage has a life span of five years – it was signed into law by President Goodluck Jonathan- and it elapsed by Aug. 2016,” he said.

He stressed that since the issue of minimum wage was a constitutional issue, all stakeholders would be involved in the final discussions.

“So it is a law that it would have a national application for both those in the private sector and those in the public sector.

“So the implementation of the national minimum wage is not only for the Federal Government alone,” Ngige added.

He said the private sector, employers of labour, government and governors, among others would be involved in the discussion.
“We must all sit together and come out with an acceptable agreement,” he said.

Check Out 9 Important Things You Must Be Careful of When You Are Feed Up of Your Marriage

When Marriage hurts, there is a high possibility of making mistakes that will make matters worse.

Emotion is high, depression is setting in, anger is deep and worry is overwhelming, that is the period when people make more terrible mistakes, saying terrible things, do negative things, hurt themselves and their loved ones.

This are the things you must never do, when your marriage is really hurting:

1. NEVER SEPARATE
Some couples erroneously think that it is better to “give a gap” when there is crisis’’ to make tempers cool down. But the truth is, the longer you separate from your spouse the more difficult it becomes to come together again. It even makes it easier for the devil to use you against each other. Avoid separation as much as possible. Stay in that marriage to make it work. {Malachi 2:14-16}

2. NEVER INVOLVE A THIRD PARTY
There is always the temptation to involve outsiders whenever there is a crisis at home. But most of the time, third parties are biased and may not say the truth. They may even have hidden agenda, or be experiencing something worse in their own marriage. Also, they may not be knowledgeable to handle a marital crisis. If you must involve the third party at all, let it be your pastor or a qualified marriage counselor. “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh”. Gen.2:24. It’s better to involve professional, not pity party who will compound your issues.

3. NEVER GIVE UP
Don’t give up on your marriage; it is not yet over. Never say you have tried your best. Until your marriage becomes the best, you have not put in your best.

4. NO DIVORCE
It is a grave error to think that divorce is the best option for you under any circumstances. There is no happiness in divorce. Research has shown that many divorcees end up living sad and frustrated lives. Wisdom demands you don’t join them.

Never think of divorce; don’t even consider it as an option. Stay in that marriage to make it work. Don’t end that marriage at this point. Fight for your marriage, you will surely win.

5. DON’T GIVE-IN TO ALCOHOL OR DRUG
Lots of people do find solace in drugs and alcohol when their marriage hurts, making more mistakes in the process.
Engaging or saying wrong things under the influence of alcohol is very easy so, avoid these substances.

6. DON’T COMMIT SUICIDE
Life is more precious than marriage. Don’t kill yourself, it will be the greatest error of your life to kill yourself because of your marriage, your spouse will move on after your burial.

7. DON’T KEEP MALICE
Avoid keeping malice. Talk, you can’t solve the problem without talking, discuss it.

8. DON’T FIGHT DIRTY
Telling people about your spouse’s secrets, fighting openly, and cursing, destroying domestic properties are all dirty. Don’t do it.

9. DON’T SAY OR DO WHAT YOU WILL REGRET LATER: Talk less, don’t say or do what you will regret. Don’t speak out of anger, there is danger in anger. Be careful, do everything to solve the problem, don’t compound it.
