Emmanuel Amuneke Says - "Burkina Faso, Senegal Friendly is Good For Super Eagles

The Former International Emmanuel Amuneke has applauded the Nigeria Football Federation for organizing grade ‘A’ international friendly matches for the Super Eagles that will strengthen the team ahead of their August 28 World Cup qualifying clash against the current African champions, Cameroon.

The encounter which has been slated for the Hive Stadium in London on March 23 and 27 respectively, will also serve as dress rehearsals for the team before their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against the Bafana of South Africa in Uyo.

The Teranga Lions of Senegal and the Stallions of Burkina Faso featured at the 2017 AFCON tournament which was won by the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon and they have always been difficult opponents for the Super Eagles.

However, Amuneke, who was an integral part of the team that won the 1994 Nations Cup and the Atlanta Olympic Games in 1996, pointed out to Soccernet.com.ng that Burkina Faso and Senegal will serve as true test for the senior national team.

“I must confess to you that the Nigeria Football Federation has really done well by putting together such grade ‘A’ friendly matches that will help the team. Burkina Faso and Senegal are two of Africa’s strongest teams and I strongly believe they will give the Super Eagles a tough time". Amuneke said.

“Playing against the Stallions of Burkina Faso and the Teranga Lions of Senegal has never been easy for the senior national team couple with the fact that the encounter will serve as perfect preparatory ground for the double-header clash against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, who happens to be the current Africa champions.

“More of this grade ‘A’ international friendly matches should be organised for the Super Eagles so that the team can be strong against any team in Africa,” he said.
